Balıkesir Businessmen distributed aid to the needy families in Diyarbakır

15 businessmen from the Balıkesir Young Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (GESIAD) members, also volunteers at ‘Is Anybody There’, visited 400 needy families in Diyarbakir and distributed food packages.

The Şehitlik and Melik Ahmet districts were visited, friendly conversations were exchanged and mutual prayers were said. Visiting Diyarbakır based on the brotherhood bridges built between the east and the west, the ‘Is Anybody There’ volunteers, GESIAD members personally carried the 30 kg aid packages and delivered them to the needy under extremely high temperatures.

Stating that they took the opportunity of the month of Ramadan to visit their brothers in Diyarbakır, The General Secretary of GESIAD Mr. Erkan Özkaya said that their aim was to increase the assistance and solidarity activities. The General Manger of Balıkesir Waterfall Education Institutions Mr. İzzet Bilir said that the feelings for assistance and solidarity was at its peak during the month of Ramadan, and that they have come to Diyarbakır to give the needy a helping hand.

The Diyarbakir Office Manager of the ‘Is Anybody There’ Association Mr. Halit Ün said that the visiting group distributed aid packages to 400 needy families that were pre-selected. Informing that during the month of Ramadan, to 5 thousand needy families in Diyarbakır, food, clothing and furniture aid will continuo. Mr. Ün said: ‘We would like to thank the businessmen, tradesmen, volunteers and everyone who initiated this aid and who did not mind sharing their bread.’
