
Kimse Yok Mu’s “Loyalty Train” headed to Pakistan on September 8, 2010, which carries 500 tones of aid materials in its 20 wagons.
Through the campaign launched to help the Pakistani flood survivors in June 2010, Kimse Yok Mu sent a cargo jet to Pakistan with 43 tones of humanitarian aid, including insulated tents, on August 27. After the jet, now, the train keeps carrying the needed emergency and non-emergency items to Pakistan. The train took off from Haydarpasa Train Station in Istanbul and its destination is Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. President, Mehmet Ozkara, staff and volunteers of Kimse Yok Mu were at the send-off ceremony at the station along with the Consul General of Pakistan in Istanbul, Dr. Yousef Junaid. Consul General thanked to the donors and Kimse Yok Mu for acting fast to give a hand to Pakistani survivors.
Donated aid materials were in the “Loyalty Train” and they are as follows: 20 containers of cleaning materials and diapers, 25 tones cooking oil, 12.5 tones jams and halva, 1000 rugs, 24,000 pairs of shoes, 500 food packets, and a container other food supplies.
President Ozkara, in his speech at the station, said “Kimse Yok Mu are and will be with the Pakistani survivors at their times of suffering.” He also anounced that a second train is going to be on its way to Pakistan in October and that Kimse Yok Mu is going to send a train in every two weeks. He also thanked to the individuals and corporate companies for helping to survivors and Pakistan which is estimated to recover in 5 years.
On October 15, 2010, the second train is going to take off to Pakistan and it will carry powdered milk for babies, biscuits, cooking oil, sugar, canned food, halva, jams as food; shoes, blankets, beds and lining, clothing, toys; medical supplies like preventive medicine for cholera and other contagious diseases, antibiotics, serums etc; cleaning supplies like soap, dish liquid, detergent, water purifiers and water purifier tablets, diapers, sanitary pads, hand towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
