KYM continues to carry out perfect international projects in the name of Turkey. Beginning in 2007, the Orhaniye Town Project has paved the way for Darfurians to return to their villages after having to live in camps
due to the war.
There are a large number of international aid organizations helping the people living in the camps. However, in terms of permanent projects or facilitating their return to their villages, KYM is the only organization working on this.
The name was changed to "Orhaniye Town" and with the support of volunteers and donators, a police station, a school, an orphanage, health clinic and a mosque were established in the region. In addition, 4 water wells running on solar energy were open to the public via 4 fountains running in different areas of the town and 8
houses were built and given to the local authorities.
The Orhaniye Town Project is not only for shelter, but rather a multi purpose project including establishing 3 flour mills and training the locals to mill corn and store it. These mills are used by thousands of Darfurians, including the neighboring villages, and helping them to hold onto life again.
During the Orhaniye Town Project KYM did not forget about the people in the region during Ramadan, Kurban Bayram and other times of the year. All year volunteers and donators visited the region and
delivered food aid, training, agricultural assistance and material aid.
The "Orhaniye Town Project" was initiated for the development of Darfur which were appreciated by the local people and officials in the region. Darfur-Nyala Governor Abdulhamid Musa thanked the Anatolian people for helping during their time of need during an official visit to KYM in September 2011.
